As a virtual live music venue owner I am able to enjoy performances from Real Life performers from all over the world.  Imagine being able to hear someone from Turkey, the UK, Gilbraltar, Spain, France, Germany and other places throughout the world while hosting these amazing people.  Some play guitars, pianos, drums, saxophone, and many have awesome voices.  Many performers do real life gigs and have real life aspirations.

My live music venue is Live at Chez Roz in Virtual Second Life at the SL Philly Sim.  For people in real life, it is hard to grasp the crux to this.  However, imagine the gas and time saved, and you don't have to pay a lot for food and drinks. lol.  Many times in one hour at least 30-60 people gather from all over the world at their computers to listen to a performer.

Now to talk about the aspirations of the performer, it is the same in SL as it is in real life.  The difference is the audience,  now it is not local or one single country, it is the whole world.  Artists logging on, seeing an event listed with their name.  The aspect of virtual performances is the same as real life, marketing, management, endorsement, fans, supports, technology.

As far as awards, well that covers both the real life and second life world.  As an example, as a venue in second life, my venue was nominated as one of the best, contest has closed but it was an honor to be nominated.  My toes curled up.  At Live at Chez Roz, when we can assist we try to promote these wonderful performers because in the live music area in SL, many are wonderful individuals who perform for basically nothing.  They do it for the love of music and to share who they are.

As an example,  Nigel Palmer who has been a performer at Chez Roz since it opened its doors two years ago is in second place for a RL award that closes in the next day.  So I'm here to talk about virtual music but want your help to make this happen for Nigel.  Here is the link, if you can, please support him.
